Made entirely in Qatar, our operable partition walls deliver STC ratings up to 56 dB, allowing a single large room to be divided into two or more acoustically independent spaces within minutes.
Foldable Acoustic Partitions, also known as operable walls or moveable partitions, consist of individual panels (typically 1000 mm to 1250 mm wide) that travel along a ceiling-mounted aluminium track. When the partition is deployed, each panel is swung into position and locked using top and bottom retractable seals that compress against the floor and ceiling to create an airtight barrier. When not needed, the panels fold and stack in a compact parking area at one end of the track, fully clearing the opening.
KTS operable partitions are available in three acoustic performance tiers. The Standard tier (STC 45) is suitable for general-purpose room division in hotels and function rooms where a moderate level of sound isolation is sufficient. The Enhanced tier (STC 51) is recommended for educational facilities, training centres, and corporate conference rooms where parallel sessions may occur with amplified audio. The Premium tier (STC 56) delivers near-wall-level acoustic isolation and is specified for broadcast studios, performing arts venues, and medical consultation suites where absolute speech privacy is required.
Panel construction varies by tier but all models feature a steel-framed inner structure with multiple layers of sound-attenuating materials including mineral wool, gypsum board, and mass-loaded vinyl. The face finish is fully customizable — options include melamine, real wood veneer, fabric wrapping (over 200 colours), whiteboard surface, tackable fabric for pin boards, and custom digital printing.
The ceiling track is manufactured from extruded aluminium alloy 6063-T5, designed for smooth panel travel with minimal noise. Track configurations accommodate straight runs, L-shapes, T-junctions, and curved paths, allowing complex room division geometries. Pass doors can be integrated into any panel for pedestrian access without deploying the full partition.
All KTS Foldable Acoustic Partitions are manufactured at our Doha facility under ISO 9001:2015 quality management. Steel frames are MIG-welded and epoxy-primed for corrosion resistance. Seals are tested for over 10,000 operating cycles. Fire performance meets ASTM E84 Class A requirements and BS 476 Part 22 as applicable.
Our installation team in Doha handles the complete process: site survey, structural assessment of the ceiling to support the track load, track installation, panel fitting, seal adjustment, and commissioning. We provide operator training and a 2-year warranty on mechanical components.
