Karmah Trading & Services (KTS), a Doha-based supplier since 2004, provides UV-stabilized Outdoor Rubber Sports Flooring for playgrounds, running tracks, outdoor fitness areas, tennis courts, basketball courts, and walkways across Qatar. Our outdoor rubber surfaces are specifically formulated to withstand Qatar's extreme climate — UV radiation that degrades ordinary materials within months, surface temperatures exceeding 70°C in summer, and occasional heavy rainfall.
Outdoor rubber sports flooring serves two critical functions: athlete safety through impact absorption, and surface durability in harsh environmental conditions. KTS supplies two primary product families for outdoor use: EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer) pour-in-place systems and prefabricated rubber tile systems.
EPDM pour-in-place flooring is a two-layer system consisting of a base layer of recycled SBR rubber granules (10 mm to 35 mm thick) topped with a 10 mm to 15 mm layer of coloured EPDM granules. Both layers are mixed on-site with polyurethane binder and trowelled to form a seamless, jointless surface. The EPDM top layer provides outstanding UV resistance — maintaining colour and mechanical properties for 10+ years in Qatar's solar conditions — while the SBR base delivers shock absorption. The seamless nature of pour-in-place systems eliminates joints where water can pool and weeds can grow, making it the preferred surface for running tracks and playground fall zones.
For playground fall zones, our EPDM surfaces are specified to achieve Critical Fall Height (CFH) ratings per EN 1177. A 40 mm total system thickness provides a CFH of 1.3 metres, while a 60 mm system achieves 2.0 metres — matching the fall height of common playground equipment. This is a legal and safety requirement for playgrounds in Qatar's schools, nurseries, public parks, and residential compounds.
Prefabricated outdoor rubber tiles (500×500 mm, 25 mm to 50 mm thick) offer an alternative for outdoor fitness zones and walkways where a modular, replaceable surface is preferred. These tiles feature interlocking edges, a drainage-channel base that allows water to pass through, and pin-connected underside for air circulation to prevent moisture buildup in Qatar's humid winters.
KTS has installed outdoor rubber surfaces at school playgrounds, public parks managed by the Ministry of Municipality, sports clubs, military fitness facilities, and residential compound recreation areas across Doha and greater Qatar. Our installation team handles all aspects including subbase preparation, drainage integration, rubber surface installation, and line marking for sports courts.
All products are tested and certified to EN 1177 (playground impact), EN 14808 (force reduction), and meet Qatar building code requirements for fire performance. Contact KTS at +974 44505001 for a site assessment.
