Manhole covers are a critical component of Qatar's underground utility infrastructure, providing access to sewerage, stormwater drainage, telecommunications, and electrical networks. KTS supplies ductile iron manhole covers rated to EN 124 classifications: A15 (pedestrian areas), B125 (car parks), C250 (kerb zones), D400 (carriageways), E600 (heavy vehicle zones), and F900 (airport runways). All D400 and above covers are supplied with hinged, bolted, or locked frames to prevent displacement from traffic loading and hydraulic pressure. Ductile iron covers feature a minimum tensile strength of 420 MPa (EN 1563 grade 420-12) and are coated with bituminous paint or hot-dip galvanized to resist Qatar's saline groundwater conditions.
For areas where weight reduction, anti-theft, and zero scrap value are priorities, KTS supplies composite (GRP/BMC) manhole covers. These fibre-reinforced polymer covers weigh up to 70% less than equivalent ductile iron units, cannot be sold as scrap metal (eliminating theft), and are electrically non-conductive — making them ideal for telecommunications and electrical manholes. Composite covers are available in B125, C250, and D400 ratings and meet BS EN 124 testing requirements.
Galvanized steel recessed covers are supplied for decorative pavement areas in Qatar's commercial and hospitality districts, such as The Pearl, Lusail Marina, and Msheireb Downtown Doha. These covers accept infill of the surrounding paving material (stone, tile, or resin-bound aggregate), providing a flush, visually seamless finish while maintaining full structural load capacity.
KTS maintains stock of popular sizes (600×600, 600×450, and circular 600 mm diameter) in our Doha warehouse for immediate supply. Custom sizes, shapes, and load ratings are available on project-specific lead times.
