Polymer concrete (PC) is a composite material consisting of graded mineral aggregates bound by thermosetting resin (typically polyester or epoxy). Compared to traditional concrete, polymer concrete offers three to four times the compressive strength, near-zero water absorption (< 0.1%), and complete resistance to freeze-thaw cycling and chemical attack. These properties make it ideal for Qatar's environment where thermal cycling, saline groundwater, and petrochemical exposure are common.
KTS supplies polymer concrete channels in standard widths of 100 mm, 150 mm, 200 mm, 250 mm, and 300 mm internal, with depths from 100 mm to 500 mm. Channel lengths are 500 mm or 1000 mm per unit, with factory-formed connections for joining. Gratings are available in ductile iron, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and polymer to suit different load classes (A15 to F900 per EN 1433).
For road drainage projects governed by Ashghal specifications, KTS provides complete slot drain and trench drain systems with pre-sloped channels (0.5% built-in fall) that ensure self-cleaning velocity without additional gradient. These systems connect to the main stormwater network via outfall units, trash boxes, and silt traps that we also supply.
