Qatar receives an average of 2,200 hours of sunshine per year, with Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) exceeding 2,000 kWh/m²/year — among the highest in the world. This exceptional solar resource makes solar street lighting an economically and environmentally compelling alternative to grid-connected street lights, eliminating the need for trenching, cabling, electrical panels, and ongoing electricity costs.
KTS all-in-one solar street lights integrate the solar panel, lithium battery, LED luminaire, controller, and motion sensor into a single compact unit that mounts on a standard street light pole. Models range from 20W to 120W LED output (equivalent to 2,400 to 14,400 lumens), providing illumination for pathways, residential streets, and secondary roads. The integrated design simplifies installation — a single unit is bolted to the pole arm, with no external wiring required.
For main roads and highways where higher lumen output and longer autonomy are required, KTS supplies split-type solar street lights with separate high-efficiency monocrystalline solar panels (up to 300Wp) mounted on the pole or a separate structure. The larger panel area generates more energy, supporting higher wattage LED fixtures (up to 200W) and extended autonomy of 3 to 5 nights without sunshine — critical for Qatar's occasional cloudy winter periods.
All KTS solar street lights use lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries that tolerate the high operating temperatures in Qatar (up to 60°C inside the unit) without degradation. LiFePO4 batteries provide 2,000+ charge cycles at 80% depth of discharge, delivering a 7 to 10 year battery service life — significantly longer than the lead-acid or lithium-ion alternatives offered by budget competitors.
LED luminaires feature Philips or Cree LEDs with efficacy exceeding 170 lm/W, colour temperature of 4000K–5700K, and CRI ≥ 70. Intelligent controllers automatically adjust brightness based on ambient light, time of night, and motion detection, optimizing energy consumption and extending battery autonomy.
All units carry IP65 or IP66 ingress protection ratings and IK08 impact resistance. Pole materials include hot-dip galvanized steel and aluminium, with heights from 4 m (garden) to 12 m (road).
